How to arrive
Ithaca : Kioni
Traditional village 24 km away
from the capital. The houses of the village have not been
destroyed by the earthquake of 1953, but they remain inalterable
ever since then. Its harbour has been the base of operations of
pirates while today it is a shelter for boats and yachts. In the
entry of the gulf there are three half-remained windmills.
Kioni has developed into a popular resort of Ionian
sea.
Sights: The house of
Karaiskaki (a department of stone residence where the hero of
revolution lived up to 1821) , the churches of St.
Nikolaos, Eyaggelistrias and St. Ioannis.
Beaches: Katsikoyli,
